Josh Gaynor is an Emmy Award-winning investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker, and executive producer with more than two decades of experience telling complex, high-stakes stories across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
Trained in the pressure-cooker world of network television morning shows, Josh crisscrossed the country as a breaking news booker, securing exclusive interviews for ABC News’ Good Morning America. He went on to the CBS News Investigative Unit, writing and producing in-depth investigations, including a focus on the international counterfeit drug trade. His reporting took him to India, Malaysia, El Salvador, Barbados, and France.
Josh’s work led him to CNN in Washington, D.C. where he led a team of correspondents, senior producers, and producers covering the Justice Department, FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, Supreme Court, and Transportation beats for the network — during a period defined by the rise of ISIS, a wave of domestic and international terror attacks, and landmark Supreme Court decisions. It was also at CNN where Josh lead his team to consistently produce original content for CNN.com, including conceiving and launching original video series for the platform.
In 2017, Josh launched Falls Village Media LLC, an independent production company dedicated to long-form documentary storytelling. Nearly a decade later, his work has earned an Emmy Award, back-to-back Emmy nominations, a George Foster Peabody Award nomination, a Walter Cronkite Award, and a duPont-Columbia Award finalist citation, among other recognition. Josh operates as a hands-on executive producer across all Falls Village Media productions — casting, reporting, writing, field producing and managing post production — leading projects from concept to delivery.
From investigating the CIA’s role surrounding 9/11 to jumping on an international tour with country music superstar Garth Brooks, Josh is a versatile storyteller driven to bring compelling stories to life.
